Honestly, there’s no two ways about it, PVRIS absolutely slay. Their album White Noise dropped a few months back and ripped people’s heads to shreds with its anthemic, electronic-tinged enormousness. They’ve been firm favourites of mine on my K! Radio since I first listened to them on my phone, while in a branch of Yo! Sushi. Seriously, I remember every detail, I had a mouth full of Chicken Kara Age, the Miso Soup was flowing, I’d just ordered a portion of chilli pepper squid, when………mmmmmm……..oh sweet jessuuusss……errr…..oh can I get a Duck Salad too?….sorry, what were we talking about? Oh yeah, and I knew there and then, in between delicious mouthfuls, that these guys we’re gonna be huge.
It’s exciting as well, as PVRIS have torn open the gates and wedged them open, ushering in a new era of female-fronted bands that lazy journalists can’t throw in to the the Paramore-comparison trap! PVRIS and so many others (like Anavae, Greywind, Dead Sara and The Dirty Youth) are doing their own thing. And long may it continue!
Here are 5 reasons why you need to watch their new music video for the latest single, White Noise.
1. The time where Lyndsey totally forgot how to do sleepy time.
“I just don’t get it…should I stop drinking diet coke after 7pm?”
2. The ghost hunters are such good looking dudes that you’d be forgiven for making up ghost stories just so they’ll come round.
…They know what you’re up to…you massive perve!
3. The sudden realisation that Lyndsey Gunnulfsen and Kerrang! Magazines Jen Walker are literally the same person!
It’s like Hannah Montana, but if they were both rad all the time!
4. Because, emotions.
Why did I binge on the new series of House Of Cards in one sitting. WHAT DO I DO WITH MY LIFE NOW?
5. Because it is SO sick.
I love PVRIS.
